Wine Party/Condo

This past Saturday we had a wine-n-cheese party.
It was a really good time. This gave us a good opportunity to take some 'real' photos of the place. Enjoy!

Am I Cuckoo?

So, I've decided to go back to school. Yowzers!

It seems like it's been much longer than 6 years since I graduated from college. I've had two "careers", moved to Vegas, got married, visited Europe and traveled a bit of the US in an RV. Considering that I'm only 28, I've done quite a lot!

When I first entered college I had no clue what I was going to do. Being the first one in the fam to get a college degree, I don't think anyone really knew what to tell me to expect either. 4 years later I ended up with a Marketing degree. Not bad. Not great.

While we were in Massachusetts I really had a lot of time to think... what am I going to do once we get home? I've got the opportunity now, to make an educated decision about what I want to do. This time I will not make an uninformed, un-researched decision.

After talking to several nurses, family members, friends, etc. After hours of being online, researching campuses, online courses, certificates, degrees, etc. I've decided to take a baby step and enroll at the College of Southern Nevada.

I know, I know. You're thinking "Not that big of deal. It's just a community college." When having these thoughts, please keep in mind that I've already got 4 years of school (and 4 years of debt) under my belt. If you know me at all, I hate wasting time and money. This time around...I'll be much more efficient.

I'm going to take a 7 1/2 week program that, when completed and passed, will get me a certificate to be a Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA). The course consists of a class, a lab and a clinical. As a CNA, I will basically be a gopher for the nurses above me, doing all the grunt work. Hey, I don't mind. I like to look at it as an opportunity to shine! Actually, I am doing this course load so I can get back into the 'school routine' and see if I can handle going one step further and becoming an RN. I think if I can handle the things that I will have to do as a CNA, I can handle being an RN.

So whadda think, am I the next Nurse Ratched???
